Lancashire County Cricket Club (LCCC), one of England’s first-class domestic teams, has announced that it is extending its relationship with JioTV, the Indian content aggregator that carries its dedicated 24/7 LancsTV channel.
The JioTV mobile app has been streaming Lancashire Lightning and Thunder fixtures for the last four years as part of the original deal.
Now, the new LancsTV channel will be made available in India on the JioTV mobile app and on connected TVs through JioTV Plus.
The extension launches with the club broadcasting five days of pre-season activity in Bangalore, India, starting on March 17 with both Thunder and Lightning playing local opposition at the Alur KSCA Stadium.
Liz Cooper, partnerships director at Lancashire Cricket, has said: “We are delighted to announce that cricket supporters in India will be able to watch Lancashire on JioTV and JioTV Plus over the course of the year.
“During 2020, we made the ground-breaking move to live stream our matches from LancsTV on JioTV, becoming the first domestic side to do so. We have really enjoyed working with them over the last four years, but to further enhance our relationship by launching a bespoke LancsTV platform on JioTV and JioTV Plus is a very exciting opportunity for us.

By GlobalData“As part of the club’s India strategy, we want to engage with new audiences across India and having a 24/7 channel on JioTV will help support that objective."
A Jio spokesperson added: “LancsTV provides broadcast quality coverage of all their home games and it’s clear to see the investment that has gone into the product with the impressive studio at Emirates Old Trafford [Lancashire's home venue in Manchester] and the talent it works with.
“We are pleased to partner with such an innovative and pioneering first-class county that clearly has a clear passion for India. We hope our users continue to enjoy watching Lancashire fixtures throughout the 2024 campaign, starting with five days of cricket in Bangalore from Sunday, as part of their pre-season tour.”
