FuboTV, the US over-the-top live television and sports streaming service, has acquired exclusive live streaming rights to soccer’s South American Fifa World Cup qualifiers.
The agreement, reached in partnership with the rights holders of the 10 South American teams, will enable the platform to show all remaining Conmebol qualifying matches on the road to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Conmebol qualifiers were previously shown in USA on Fanatiz, the soccer-focused OTT streaming platform.
The earlier rounds of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers were only available via pay-per-view in the country.
Under the new deal, FuboTV will have exclusive OTT live streaming rights for 70 qualifying matches in USA.
Qualifying is scheduled to resume in June after the previous round of games last month was cancelled due to travel restrictions caused by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
