United Media, the southeast Europe-based media company, has extended its exclusive broadcast rights agreement with Euroleague Basketball, the organizer of top European club competitions, for another five years.

The renewed deal, announced today (February 28), will see United Media’s Sportklub and Nova pay-TV channels continue to show games from the top-tier EuroLeague and second-tier EuroCup in Greece, Serbia, Cyprus, Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and North Macedonia.

The extension was struck with IMG Media, which is responsible for negotiating rights deals on behalf of Euroleague Basketball.

This new multi-year agreement will take Nova and Sportklub's coverage of Euroleague Basketball competitions beyond the two-decade mark.

Nova Sports shows games in Greece and Cyprus, while SportKlub covers the Adriatic region.

Greece and the Balkans have significant representation in the Euroleague Basketball competitions, with Greek and Serbian teams such as Olympiacos Piraeus, Panathinaikos Athens, Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade, and Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade participating in the EuroLeague, while Buducnost VOLI Podgorica, Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana represent the region in the EuroCup.

Marshall Glickman, Euroleague Basketball chief executive, said: “Our broadcasting partners are fundamental to building up our business, and having such an important partner as United Media so committed to bringing our games to the southeast European region will be key to reaching new audiences.

Nikos Stathopoulos, United Group chairman, added: “The agreement with Euroleague Basketball is a very important step for the long-term plans that the United Group has in the countries for which we have acquired five-year sports rights.
