DAZN, the international sports streaming service, has continued its local rights spree in North America by becoming the exclusive direct-to-consumer (DTC) streaming home for the Los Angeles Kings NHL ice hockey franchise.

Beginning with the 2026-27 season, local games will be streamed by DAZN through a partnership with Angels Broadcast Television (ABTV), the local TV home for the Kings.

The tie-up with ABTV will provide live and on-demand access to locally-broadcast Kings regular-season games and first-round Stanley Cup playoff coverage, within the team's local television territory, which includes Southern California and Hawaii. Nationally exclusive games will not be included.

ABTV will also continue to provide local coverage through participating cable, satellite, and streaming TV providers.

As part of ABTV’s acquisition of FanDuel Sports Network West earlier this year, viewers can continue to watch locally televised Kings games on ABTV via the same channels as past seasons, subject to national exclusivities.

DAZN will provide an additional DTC streaming option for available local Kings games for viewers without a traditional television subscription in the region.

Subscribers to the OTT platform will also have access to ABTV’s pregame and postgame coverage and original programming across connected TVs, mobile devices, tablets and web browsers.

Subscriptions are priced at $19.99 monthly, with season packages starting at $129.99. Select games are also expected to be available over-the-air.

DAZN Group CEO Shay Segev said: “DAZN has a modern distribution model that gives fans direct access to the teams they follow, and our partnership with Angels Broadcast Television to be the new exclusive streaming home of the LA Kings, reflects that approach.

“We are delivering a viewing experience that gives fans more control, more access, and more ways to stay connected to LA Kings hockey throughout the season.”

DAZN is week-by-week partnering with most of the North American sports teams whose rights are on the market after Main Street Sports Group (MSSG), owner of the now-defunct regional broadcast network FanDuel Sports Network, announced it was winding down operations earlier this year.

The streamer has initially targeted NBA basketball teams, partnering with several franchises, including the Cleveland Cavaliers, Orlando Magic, San Antonio Spurs, Indiana Pacers, Memphis Grizzlies, and Minnesota Timberwolves in recent weeks.

Monumental Sports Network, the regional sports channel for the Washington, DC area, announced a new distribution deal with DAZN this month through which it will carry its Monumental+ app that provides local Washington Wizards broadcasts.

At the beginning of 2026, DAZN was in talks to acquire MSSG, and with it a wide swathe of local MLB, NBA, and NHL rights, but that deal never came to fruition, with MSSG then falling into insolvency following the 2025-26 NHL campaign.

DAZN made its long-awaited entry into the US local broadcast market earlier this year, sweeping up the local rights to New York’s NBA, MLB, and NHL teams through a pair of new carriage agreements with MSG Networks (MSGN) and YES Network.

As part of that deal, DAZN becomes the exclusive direct-to-consumer streaming home of seven elite New York-area (city and state) sports teams, including the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets.

Meanwhile, the Detroit Red Wings have announced Metro Detroit-based DQS Solutions & Staffing as their new jersey patch partner.

As part of a multi-year agreement, the DQS brand mark will be featured on Detroit’s home and away jerseys. DQS will also serve as the team's official workforce partner.

Local waste management firm Priority previously held the designation when it became the franchise’s first-ever jersey patch partner in 2024.

The 2026-27 NHL season begins on September 29. The Kings will start their campaign against the Colorado Avalanche, while the Red Wings will open against the New York Rangers.
