Canadian Soccer Media & Entertainment (CSME), the rebranded commercial arm of the country’s soccer governing body, has struck a soccer rights deal with global sports streaming service DAZN.

A tie-up between the two parties has been announced today, through which DAZN will sub-license a number of games from European soccer's pan-continental Champions League (UCL) and Europa League competitions to the OneSoccer CSME-operated vehicle, for the duration of the 2026-27 season.

OneSoccer, through this deal, will make select top-tier Champions League and second-tier Europa League games available, as well as showing highlights and related content.

This comes with DAZN entering the final year of its rights deal in Canada (2026-27) covering the UCL – the next cycle will see games shown in that market by Paramount+.

It also carries on a tie-up that was in place for the latter part of the 2025-26 UCL season in the Canadian market.

The games will predominantly be those featuring Canadian players – stars from that country set to compete in this season's UCL include Jonathan David (Atlético Madrid), Alphonso Davies (Bayern Munich), and the trio of Tajon Buchanan, Tani Oluwaseyi, and Nathan Saliba (all Villarreal).

The deal follows on from the Canadian men's national team reaching the knockout stages of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which they co-hosted (aloongside the United States, and Mexico).

James Johnson, chief executive at Canada Soccer Media & Entertainment, explained: "Through this partnership with DAZN, we are creating more opportunities for Canadian fans to follow and celebrate Canadian talent competing on some of soccer’s biggest stages. As the presence of Canadian players continues to grow across Europe, we are committed to connecting supporters with the players, stories and moments that are shaping the future of Canadian soccer."

OneSoccer was established as a joint venture between CSME, then-named Canadian Soccer Business (CBS), and the Mediapro agency, but is now solely operated by CSME after Mediapro departed in 2024.

OneSoccer also provided coverage in Canada of the last few months of the UEFA Women's Champions League.

Shay Segev, CEO at DAZN Group, added: "Our partnership with Canadian Soccer Media and Entertainment and OneSoccer maximises reach, showcasing the stories of Canadian talent across our extensive global soccer portfolio."

DAZN holds Canadian UCL rights through the 2024-27 cycle, at an estimated valuation of just over $17 million annually.
