The ACB, the organizer of the top Spanish basketball league, has today (February 13) announced the upcoming 2023 edition of the Copa del Rey knockout cup competition will be shown in 152 countries.

Agreements have been secured with television networks and streaming platforms in four continents.

The Copa del Rey will be broadcast in 24 Latin American countries by the Disney-owned Star+, along with Fox Sports in Argentina and Inter in Venezuela. In North America, the competition will be shown by Fubo Sports Network in the US, TVC and HiSports in Mexico, and Game+ in Canada.

In Asia, streaming platforms PPSports and Bilibili hold rights in China. The tournament will be shown in two new territories this year – India and the Indian subcontinent through FanCode, and the Philippines on Setanta Sports.

The Copa will be available in the Middle East through Sharjah Sports, amongst other operators and countries.

In Europe, the ACB can be seen in all the main basketball markets such as Greece (OTE), Turkey (D-Smart), the Baltics (TV3), Poland (SportKlub), Finland (Elisa TV), France (MCS Basket), Portugal (Eleven Sports Network), Ukraine (PV+), and the Balkans (Arena TV).

The Copa del Rey will be broadcast on social media giant Facebook in countries around the world without a rightsholder, which includes the majority of Africa where the agreement is not exclusive.

The competition will be accessible on Facebook in countries such as Italy, Germany, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Austria, Ireland, and New Zealand.

Domestically, the tournament will be shown by pay-television operator Movistar Plus.

This year’s edition will be held from Thursday (February 16) to Sunday and staged in Badalona. Defending champions Barcelona will face Unicaja, while Real Madrid will take on Valencia Basket in the first quarter-final matches.

Tenerife vs Gran Canaria and Joventut Badalona vs Baskonia are the other matchups on Friday.
