IMG Arena, the betting arm of the sports and entertainment giant, has partnered with Amazon Web Services (AWS), a subsidiary of the retail giant, as its strategic cloud provider.
As part of the deal, IMG Arena will use AWS’s cloud computing and management tools to develop new products, with a focus on IMG Arena’s live streaming, data collection, and fan engagement offerings for partners.
Max Wright, chief commercial officer at IMG Arena, said: “IMG Arena has been a pioneer in the official sports data and technology space since we launched in 2012. Selecting AWS as our strategic cloud provider cements our commitment to delivering the most innovative data-driven products in the market.”
Last month IMG Arena unveiled a partnership with the Cricket West Indies (CWI) governing body.
Under the agreement, IMG Arena became the exclusive global data and streaming rights holder for CWI, in partnership with the CricViz cricket-centric data and analytics provider.
The previous significant IMG Arena partnership, meanwhile, was unveiled in early August, through a tie-up between the company and US fantasy sports and betting firm FanDuel.
