Strategy head Speier to exit Infront at start of 2021

Joel Speier, a member of the group management board at Infront, is leaving after more than 10 years at the international sports marketing agency.
Speier, who presently holds the position of vice-president strategy, business development and M&A, is to step down at the end of January 2021 “to pursue new challenges,” the Switzerland-based agency said today.
The role of head of strategy, business development and M&A is being taken up by Martin Lindemann, like Speier a German native, and currently director strategy and business development, who has been at Infront for eight years.
However, the seat being vacated on the group management board will not be filled at this time.
Speier, who joined Infront in 2010, has filled several prominent strategic roles and in September 2019, took on new responsibilities as a member of the people, innovation and corporate services (PICS) business unit formed as part of a major restructure at the agency.
In his latest role, he has overseen Infront's partnership and M&A initiatives, providing support to other business units in the areas of strategy definition, valuation, deal structuring and negotiations.
Prior to joining Infront, Speier spent four years at investment bank Merrill Lynch in Frankfurt, advising German corporations on M&A and capital market transactions.
In a statement, Christian Müller, senior vice-president of PICS, said: “We owe a significant debt to Joel as well as considerable recognition for his achievements with Infront. He leaves behind a strategy, business development and M&A department which is ready for the future and we wish him all the very best in his upcoming endeavours.
“Martin has been playing a key role in our business development for many years. He brings over 15 years of sports industry experience including vast knowledge in rights valuation and acquisition, business development, sales and account management. I am glad that we have a strong bench of senior managers for internal succession.”
