IQONIQ grows sports portfolio with Beach Soccer World Wide
IQONIQ, the new fan engagement platform, has further increased its growing footprint in the sports market by adding Beach Soccer Worldwide, the international beach soccer events organiser, to its portfolio of partners.
In a three-year “strategical partnership”, IQONIQ becomes the exclusive official fan engagement and loyalty platform for all the competitions organised by BSWW.
BSWW said the agreement “reinforces Beach Soccer World Wide's commitment with its fanbase, exploring new ways to give supporters a much more intense and direct conversation with the sport, its athletes and teams.”
IQONIQ added beach soccer offers it “a new universe in the sport, with a very active and committed fanbase, at the time it gives access to audiences and users no other sport can.”
This is the latest in a host of partnerships agreed by IQONIQ this year, with its most recent deal coming last week with Spanish soccer’s LaLiga.
It has also partnered with French soccer clubs Marseille and Monaco, England’s Crystal Palace, Euroleague Basketball, the European Handball Federation, Formula 1's McLaren team and the Drone Champions League.
The IQONIQ app was due to launch this month, but the company has now said it will soon be available to users from this autumn.
Joan Cusco, BSWW president, said: "Our task is to promote and develop beach soccer and engaging with our fans is one of our main priorities, because they play an instrumental role in the sport. This is why the agreement with IQONIQ is so important for us. It opens a whole new set of possibilities to relate with our fanbase, to offer new experiences and to strengthen our communication with the global beach soccer family at a whole new level."
Kazim Atilla, chief executive and founder of IQONIQ, added: "Beach soccer is a sport with a huge potential, with a strong connection with its supporters, both inside and outside the stadium. It is very important for us to have the chance to work with such a unique sport, with endless possibilities with regards to fan engagement, what will give us a phenomenal opportunity to provide unexplored experiences to our users.”
In an interview with Sportcal in May, Atilla said IQONIQ will conclude partnership agreements with more than 150 sports teams globally, including from Europe’s five major soccer leagues.
