Betway set to replace Marathonbet as Sevilla shirt sponsor
Sevilla, of Spanish soccer's top-tier LaLiga, is reportedly in talks with Betway, the international online betting operator, over a shirt sponsorship deal.
Sevilla signed a two-year deal with Marathonbet, the online betting operator, ahead of the 2019-20 season, but that deal is set to end this year, Spanish site Palco23 has reported.
The agreement with Betway is set to exceed the €5 million ($5.4 million) per annum that Marathonbet paid, with performance-related bonuses built into the contract.
Marathonbet replaced Playtika, the Chinese-owned mobile games developer, as Sevilla's shirt sponsor.
Betway already has sponsorship deals in LaLiga with Alaves, Leganes and Levante.
LaLiga is set to resume on 12 June after a three-month suspension from the coronavirus pandemic, with Sevilla in third place and in line for a Uefa Champions League spot.
