SiriusXM to provide exclusive national radio coverage of US Open
SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio, the US satellite radio broadcaster’s dedicated golf station, has been named as the exclusive national radio broadcaster for this week's US Open Championship.
Under the agreement, SiriusXM will provide 44 hours of live hole-by-hole coverage across all four rounds of play from 13 to 16 June.
SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio is available in the US on SiriusXM radios, on the SiriusXM app and online at SiriusXM.com.
The PGA Tour signed an extended four-year rights deal with SiriusXM last year.
Fox Sports has a multi-media agreement with the USGA, organisers of the US Open, which makes Fox Sports and FS1 the principal domestic media partner of the USGA.
The 119th US Open Championship will air on Fox, FS1, Fox Deportes, FoxSports.com and the Fox Sports App. Fox Sports' broadcast will also air on the Fox Sports channel on SiriusXM through the conclusion of the championship.
Scott Greenstein, SiriusXM's president and chief content officer, said: “We're very pleased to expand our coverage this year to deliver listeners more live tournament hours, with a first-rate broadcast team calling more action from the course than ever before. Our live play-by-play and the insight of our expert hosts throughout US Open Week will truly bring golf fans inside this event."
In a deal to 2021, subscribers to SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio also get live commentary of every round of most tour events annually, including The Players Championship, the four events of the FedExCup Playoffs and the Presidents Cup, the biennial team contest between USA and an International side with players from the rest of the world, excluding Europe.
SiriusXM also offers, through separate agreements, live coverage of golf’s three other majors - The Masters, The Open Championship and PGA Championship - plus the Ryder Cup.
