Five more governing bodies sign up for Olympic Channel
The International Olympic Committee, has reached agreements with the international governing bodies for billiards, cheerleading, minigolf, savate, the French combat sport, and sleddog sports to offer content on its Olympic Channel.
The five new agreements increases the channel’s federation partners to 83. The Olympic Channel's existing partners includes the likes of Fifa, the FIA and the International Tennis Federation.
Under the agreement, the governing bodies will collaborate with the Olympic Channel on live streaming and event coverage.
The Olympic Channel will also provide an additional platform to its federation partners by distributing content that is complementary to current broadcast agreements.
Mark Parkman, general manager of the IOC’s global Olympic Channel said: “We are excited to welcome these organisations to the Olympic Channel’s family of federation partners. Our platform provides promotion for all sports and athletes within the Olympic Movement, and we look forward to working together to help grow their reach, engagement and audiences worldwide.”
The Olympic Channel was launched in August 2016 with the aim of providing a new way to engage younger generations, fans and new audiences with the Olympic movement. It is supported by IOC top-tier ‘TOP’ sponsors Bridgestone, Toyota and Alibaba.
