Eleven Sports to show Joshua title defence in three territories
Eleven Sports, the international pay-television broadcaster, has secure live and exclusive rights in three of the markets in which it operates to the forthcoming world heavyweight title fight between the UK’s Anthony Joshua and Russia’s Alexander Povetkin.
Eleven Sports subscribers in Portugal and Taiwan will be able to watch the 22 September fight on Eleven Sports’ linear channels and OTT platforms in the respective markets, while fans in Myanmar will have access via the MY SPORTS Facebook page, which has already attracted more than 500,000 followers since its launch two months ago.
The popular Joshua will be defending his WBA, WBA Super, IBF, WBO and IBO titles when he takes on Povetkin at Wembley Stadium in London next week.
Danny Menken, group managing director of Eleven Sports, said: “Anthony Joshua’s global reputation has risen to huge heights, and we are pleased to offer fans in Portugal, Taiwan and Myanmar this knockout fight on ELEVEN SPORTS. This agreement builds on our commitment to deliver world-class, premium sports entertainment for fans and fits well into our diverse offer in these markets.”
