Lagardère adds partnership sales to RFRSH Entertainment role
Lagardère Sports, the international sports marketing agency, is expanding its commercial relationship with RFRSH Entertainment after being appointed as the exclusive partnership sales house for the eSports company.
The role includes managing all sales and promotion for RFRSH’s new global tournament series, the Counter-Strike (CS:GO) BLAST Pro Series, as well as the eSports teams Astralis and Heroic, which are managed and operated by RFRSH Entertainment
Lagardère Sports adds this responsibility to its existing exclusive worldwide media rights deal with RFRSH for the Counter-Strike (CS:GO) BLAST Pro Series.
That agreement was Lagardère Sports’ first involving eSports media rights, albeit it already manages sponsorship rights for a range of eSports teams.
Just last month it signed up to manage sales activities for the USA-based Splyce team and help it acquire new partners and sponsors. The contract also includes developing a range of marketing campaigns.
Lagardère Sports also has agreements in place with Germany-based eSports trio SK Gaming, Unicorns of Love and Team Roccat. The latter two compete in the LCS Champions Series, while SK Gaming additionally competes in Counter-Strike tournaments.
Jakob Lund Kristensen, co-founder and executive vice-president of sales at RFRSH Entertainment, said: ”RFRSH Entertainment has built a unique position through the way we produce, operate and communicate around our tournaments and teams. We invest significant resources in building and developing properties catering for both the hard core fan, but also, and to a much larger extent than anybody else, to the vast mainstream audience and fans of competitive entertainment in general.”
