Barcelona extend deal with Chinese bank
Spanish soccer giants Barcelona have renewed their regional sponsorship deal with Shanghai Pudong Development Bank (SPDB), the Chinese financial services company.
The club’s board of directors approved a proposal to renew the agreement to June 2020.
The company will continue to act as the official bank of the club in China, a role it has held since December 2016.
Meanwhile, a record average television audience of 271,000 viewers, a 1.45-per-cent share, watched the women’s soccer match between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid on Gol, the Spanish free-to-air digital terrestrial television sports channel.
The Primera Division game, which ended 1-1, drew a peak audience of 400,000.
The average beat the previous high of 260,000 set for a Barcelona-Atletico clash last season.
