Sky Deutschland gets Onside for pre-season friendlies
Sky Deutschland, the pay-television broadcaster in Germany, has struck a deal with Onside Sports, the Lagardère Sports-owned consultancy that organises soccer friendly matches and training camps, to show a series of pre-season games this summer.
The Sky Sport News HD channel will broadcast action from three tournaments being organised by Onside in Germany. They will feature teams from the Bundesliga, as well as top clubs from England, Spain and Italy.
The games will also be live-streamed on skysport.de.
Participants, venues and dates are yet to be announced.
During the recent Bundesliga winter break, Sky Sport News showed the exhibition H-Hotels Wintercup in Bielefeld and action from Borussia Dortmund's and Hamburg's training camps in Spain.
Onside Sports was launched last year by Lagardère Sports Germany, Marc Kosicke, head of German soccer agency Projekt B, and Henning Riesselmann, the former managing director at the Hamburg-based Match IQ.
