Uefa launches tender for referee match kits
Uefa has today invited sportswear companies to submit bids to become the official supplier of referee match kits for its club and national teams competitions.
The joint tender covers the Uefa Champions League and Uefa Europa League club competitions and also national team tournaments from 2019 to 2022. These include Euro 2020, to be held in 12 countries across the continent.
Interested parties have been requested to contact the Uefa licensing manager Peter Dennis at email@example.com no later than 16 February in order to participate in the tender.
Team Marketing is Uefa’s exclusive marketing agency for media and commercial rights to European club competitions, while CAA Eleven has the same responsibility for national team competitions.
At present, German sportswear and equipment giant Adidas is the official supplier of referee kits for the Champions League, Europa League and Super Cup in a six-year deal that expires at the end of this season and also includes match balls and other products.
However, the rights are being separated out from next season, with Molten, the Japanese ball manufacturer, having already been appointed as a supplier for the Europa League, and a provider for the Champions League still to be announced.
Adidas has also been the supplier of referee kits for Uefa national team events such as Euro 2016 held in France.
