ATR renews rights to $16m Pegasus World Cup
At The Races, the UK-based horse racing broadcaster, has acquired exclusive live rights in the UK and Ireland to the 2018 Pegasus World Cup Invitational, the $16-million event said to be the world’s richest race.
It will be the second edition of the race, which was created by USA-based race track operating company the Stronach Group, with ATR having also shown the inaugural event, which offered a prize pot of $12 million.
ATR said it will mix studio coverage with US national network NBC's output, showing the undercard at Gulfstream Park, Florida prior to the Pegasus World Cup Invitational, which is set to run at 10.40pm (GMT) on 27 January.
In the lead-up to the race, attheraces.com and ATR app users will have access to exclusive editorial content from respected US pundits, plus full form and video archive replays of all 12 contenders’ recent runs.
International TV rights to the Pegasus World Cup Invitational are sold by HBA Media, the independent rights agency representing the sport of horse racing.
