FC Augsburg extends ties with Lagardère Sports
FC Augsburg, of German soccer’s top-tier Bundesliga, have extended their commercial relationship with Lagardère Sports, the international sports agency.
The agency will continue to manage the club’s overall commercial and marketing activities, including the brokering of sponsorship deals and the development of new sponsorship concepts, until 30 June 2024.
The contract also covers the sale of hospitality packages at the team’s WWK Arena.
Lagardère Sports Germany has worked with the club since 2006.
Robert Schraml, managing director of marketing at FC Augsburg, praised the striking of an agreement after “intensive but always fair discussions” and highlighted the “definition of new common goals.”
In August, Lagardère Sports brokered a sleeve sponsorship deal for the club with Baramundi Software, the Augsburg-based IT firm.
Late last year, the agency extended its agreement with the Bundesliga’s Borussia Dortmund, one of its headline clients in Germany.
