TSN's coverage of CFL playoffs the most watched for three years
Coverage by TSN, the Canadian pay-TV sports broadcaster, of Sunday’s Canadian Football League playoffs, were the most watched in three years, the broadcaster said.
Edmonton’s victory over Winnipeg in the western semi-final attracted an average of 1.1 million viewers, while Saskatchewan’s win over Ottawa in the eastern semi-final was watched by 975,000 viewers, according to preliminary data from Numeris.
Overall, viewing of this year’s semi-finals was up by 7 per cent over 2016, making TSN the most-watched network in Canada on Sunday, with a total of 4.3 million Canadians watching some or all of the matches.
TSN’s exclusive coverage of the so-called ‘Shaw Road to the Grey Cup’ (the final match of the season) continues on 19 November with the eastern final followed by the western final, with the Grey Cup itself to be televised live the following weekend.
