DHL delivers extended support for Harlequins
DHL, the international logistics company, has today signed a deal to remain the major sponsor of prominent English rugby union club Harlequins.
Under the agreement, the length and terms of which have not been disclosed, DHL will continue to enjoy branding on the front of the Premiership team’s shirts and extend its support for the club’s academy and elite player development group structure, and the Harlequins Ladies teams.
DHL will also look to expand the service and distribution of the south-west London club’s retail offering, while developing grassroots initiatives with its community team.
The extension was announced today, following a climb on Monday evening at The O2 Arena in London involving players from the Harlequins men’s and women’s teams (pictured).
DHL first became a sponsor of the club, which is based at the Twickenham Stoop Stadium, in 2012, and stepped up to become the ‘principal partner’ in 2014, in succession to Etihad Airways.
DHL has strong ties with rugby union as exemplified by its status as a worldwide partner of the Rugby World Cup, a deal it renewed, for the 2019 tournament in Japan, in May of this year, and is also an official partner of the annual HSBC Sevens World Series.
