At the meeting the following decisions were taken by the Board:

1. FIBA Headquarters

The Central Board has finally decided to move the FIBA Headquarters from Munich, Germany to Geneva, Switzerland as of June 2002. The offices will be located in a brand new building in very close proximity to the Geneva
airport.

FIBA was founded in Geneva on 18 June 1932 and its headquarters have, until
the present date, been situated in:

1932-1940 Rome, Italy
1940-1956 Berne, Switzerland
1956-present Munich, Federal Republic of Germany

2. FIBA World Hall of Fame

By a large majority the Central Board has decided to create a FIBA World Hall of Fame in Madrid/Alcobendas, Spain. The Hall of Fame will nominate prominent athletes, coaches and officials from the sport of basketball for induction. The Hall will be situated in the Pedro Ferrándiz Foundation which will be enlarged in order to house the Hall.

3. Olympic Basketball Tournaments in Athens

The Central Board has carefully studied the request by the LOC to have the Preliminary Round of the basketball tournaments played in a new arena. No conclusion was made, as further evaluation of the situation is considered
necessary.
