The US Open, one of tennis’ four ‘Grand Slam’ majors, will continue to be broadcast by pay-TV giant Sky Sports in the UK after the broadcaster renewed its media rights deal with the USTA organizing body.

This three-year extension ensures Sky will retain the rights to the tournament across the UK and Ireland through the 2030 edition.

Sky’s rights include linear coverage, provided through its range of Sky Sports linear channels, streaming via the NOW TV OTT service, and the use of highlights and clips for Sky’s social media and digital platforms.

IMG, the global commercial sports and media agency, brokered the agreement on behalf of the USTA, for which it is the official media rights sales agent.

Speaking on the deal, Sky UK and Ireland chief executive Jonathan Licht said: “The US Open is one of the highlights of the sporting calendar, featuring the biggest names in both the men's and women's games, all set against the spectacular New York backdrop.

“We're delighted to extend our partnership with the USTA, reinforcing our shared commitment to embracing innovation, showcasing the best in the sport and delivering world-class coverage for viewers. This renewal further cements Sky Sports' position as the home of sport in the UK and Ireland, offering fans unrivalled breadth and value all year round."

USTA chief commercial officer Kirsten Corio added: “The US Open and Sky Sports have been trusted partners for many years, and we’re excited to continue such a strong relationship with this renewal.

“Sky shares our commitment to delivering innovative and cutting-edge coverage to a great audience of tennis fans in the U.K. and Ireland, and we're confident that our continued partnership will have a direct impact on tennis’ extraordinary growth and deepen fans’ connection with the game.”

Sky had broadcast the US Open between 1991 and 2015, before allowing the rights to lapse following that year’s edition. It returned to the fold in 2023 and has broadcast every edition since then, with this new extension now bringing the current tie-up to eight consecutive years.

Since retaining the US Open, Sky has made a point of prioritizing tennis rights in the UK, and now, in 2026, is broadcasting over 4,000 matches across 80 tennis tournaments, including the ongoing 2026 US Open (which began on August 30).
