Monumental Sports Network (MNMT), the regional sports channel for the Washington, DC area owned by Monumental Sports & Entertainment, has announced a new distribution deal with international sports streaming service DAZN.
Under the agreement, the Monumental+ app, which provides local broadcasts of games featuring the Washington Capitals NHL ice hockey franchise and the Washington Wizards NBA basketball team, will be available as a subscription service on DAZN.

The partnership provides an additional streaming option for local sports fans throughout the DMV region (Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia).
Through DAZN, Monumental+ will further expand access to its content while maintaining its presence across traditional television providers, streaming platforms, and direct-to-consumer offerings. The Monumental+ mobile app launched in 2024.
Zach Leonsis, president of media and new enterprises for Monumental Sports & Entertainment, said: “Monumental Sports Network has incredible reach across the DMV, and we continue to pursue opportunities that engage fans wherever and however they choose to watch.
“DAZN has built a highly innovative global sports entertainment platform and offers an extensive portfolio of premium sports content. We’re pleased to give fans another way to watch our live games and other programming.”
In addition to exclusive coverage of the Capitals and Wizards, MNMT serves as the local television home of the WNBA’s Washington Mystics and NBA G League’s Capital City Go-Go and features original programming, behind-the-scenes content, collegiate athletics, high school sports, esports, and other live events.
MNMT will join DAZN’s portfolio of sports programming, which already includes NFL Game Pass and NHL.tv available internationally, as well as content from NBA, MLB, and NHL teams, alongside boxing, soccer, motorsport, and basketball.
Shay Segev, CEO of DAZN Group, added: “Monumental Sports Network has created a compelling local sports offering, and DAZN is delighted to collaborate with them to expand its reach.
“As we continue to grow our portfolio of premium US sports content, partnerships such as this highlight the benefits of DAZN’s built-for-sport platform for rights holders, ensuring fans have more ways to access the sports they love.”
DAZN recently strengthened its proposition to rights holders in the US by completing its acquisition of digital streaming solutions platform ViewLift.
Ted Leonsis, the founder, chairman, managing partner and CEO of MSE, previously served as founder and chairman of ViewLift.
The acquisition supported DAZN’s expansion goals in the US, with a focus on local broadcast rights for the NBA, MLB, and NHL.
The OTT platform has already announced deals with several NBA franchises this month. Last week, the streamer agreed to a new five-year rights deal with the Indiana Pacers, becoming the franchise’s new exclusive regional broadcast partner through the 2030-31 season.
That came soon after DAZN secured a similar regional deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The service is set to partner with several of the 13 NBA teams whose rights are on the market after Main Street Sports Group (MSSG), owner of the now-defunct regional broadcast network FanDuel Sports Network, announced it was winding down operations earlier this year, forcing the Pacers and Timberwolves to search for a new partner.
At the beginning of 2026, DAZN was in talks to acquire MSSG, and with it a wide swathe of local MLB, NBA, and NHL rights, but that deal never came to fruition, with MSSG then falling into insolvency following the 2025-26 NHL campaign.
DAZN made its long-awaited entry into the US local broadcast market earlier this year, sweeping up the local rights to New York’s NBA, MLB, and NHL teams through a pair of new carriage agreements with MSG Networks (MSGN) and YES Network.
As part of that deal, DAZN becomes the exclusive direct-to-consumer streaming home of seven elite New York-area (city and state) sports teams – the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets (NBA), New York Yankees (MLB), and the New York Rangers, New York Islanders, Buffalo Sabres, and New Jersey Devils (NHL).
Earlier this month, the Charlotte Hornets and Orlando Magic franchises each announced new local broadcast deals with Cox Communications for the 2026-27 campaign.
While linear rights on the local level have been confirmed, both the Magic and the Hornets have said that they will announce local streaming rights at a later date, with reports surfacing suggesting that DAZN will continue its local rights push in the two markets.
