The Disney+ OTT platform will serve as the global streaming home of Formula E, the all-electric motor racing series, from the 2026-27 season.
Under a multi-year deal announced today, all Formula E races will be shown on Disney+ and ESPN+ in the US and on Disney+ in most international markets.

Disney+ will provide coverage of every event, including preview and review shows, practice, qualifying and race sessions, along with race highlights.
The streaming giant will replace Paramount-owned network CBS as the Formula E rightsholder in the US. In recent seasons, live coverage of the series has been available on CBS Television Network and the Paramount+ service.
Select races have also been shown on the Roku streaming service since 2024. This marked Roku’s first-ever live sports rights acquisition.
Formula E now follows in the footsteps of Formula 1 by moving away from linear coverage and selling its main rights in the US to a streaming service.
F1 is currently in the first season of a five-year deal with tech and streaming powerhouse Apple worth roughly $140 million per year.

Spanning 21 rounds across 13 events in major cities around the world, the 2026-27 season kicks off on December 18 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and includes stops in Austin, Miami, Monaco, and Mexico City, culminating in the final round on July 25, 2027, in Tokyo.
The 2025-26 campaign concludes this weekend with a double-header in London.
Launched in 2014, the 2026-27 Formula E season will mark a new chapter for the series with the debut of the Gen4 era. The new season will also introduce an enhanced race weekend format designed.
Meanwhile, the addition of the Formula E World Championship further bolsters a growing live sports portfolio for Disney+.
Most recently, the streamer added rights to LaLiga in France to its stable, after already securing deals to show Spanish soccer's top-flight league in Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, the UK, and Ireland.
Disney+ also holds rights to NBA basketball games in the Philippines and the UEFA Women’s Champions League across Europe and Latin America. The platform was also a broadcaster of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in South America.
