He is being charged with helping continue to drive the agency's growth in the US.
It was announced last December that Rossomondo would be stepping down from his MotoGP role in January, while continuing to provide guidance to Dorna Sports' chief executive Carmelo Ezpeleta for a period of time after that.
Rossomondo first joined MotoGP in 2023, replacing Manel Arroyo, who left the role to take up a new position within the company as a strategic advisor.
His MotoGP tenure saw the development of MotoGP’s new brand identity, the expansion of its commercial operation and the foundations for long-term success, including several major sponsorships, rights deals, and long-term race contracts.
He joined MotoGP from US basketball’s top-tier NBA, where he served as senior vice president of global partnerships and media, having started his career in advertising and sales at Madison Square Garden and holding roles at properties including the heavyweight agency IMG, Time Warner Global Media, and the NBA.
Rossomondo has now said: "I'm beyond excited to join Sportfive and contribute to its dynamic growth in the US market. The agency's global reach and commitment to excellence present a unique opportunity to drive meaningful impact."
Stefan Felsing, Sportfive's chief executive, added: "Dan brings a proven track record in global sports marketing, deep industry expertise, and a powerful network that aligns perfectly with our vision for sustainable growth and the continued expansion of our service offering. By combining Dan’s experience and relationships with Sportfive's unmatched data intelligence, advisory capabilities, global sales strength, and best-in-class activation expertise, we are uniquely positioned to challenge established players in the US market."
In terms of recent Sportfive activity in North America, early May saw the agency unveil a tie-up with the New Orleans Saints.
Sportfive's deal with that American football NFL franchise comes ahead of that team's (and the NFL's) first-ever game in France, scheduled to take place in Paris in October this year, between the Saints (the designated home team) and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Sportfive will manage activity on the Saints’ French-language social media accounts and digital platforms, in particular its dedicated Instagram handle.
