Volleyball World, the commercial arm of the sport’s FIVB governing body, has agreed broadcast rights deals in Southeast Asia with Thai telecoms firm Jasmine International (JAS) and media group Mono.

Through the exclusive multi-year partnership, the platforms will provide coverage of the sport’s leading international competitions, including the Volleyball Nations League (VNL), the FIVB World Cup, and the AVC Continental Championships across Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar.

For the first time, beach volleyball events will also be broadcast on a Thai platform.

Mono will offer an “integrated, multi-platform distribution model”, which will include free-to-air coverage on the Mono29 channel, as well as streaming on Monomax, alongside digital content and highlights.

The parties stated that a primary focus of the collaboration will be to ensure high visibility for Thailand’s national team matches, especially during domestic events.

Felix von Knorring, chief media officer at Volleyball World, said: “Thailand is one of the most passionate and strategically important volleyball markets in Asia, with a powerful national team following and rapidly expanding digital engagement.

“This agreement strengthens our position in Thailand and extends our reach across Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar, creating a powerful Southeast Asian platform for the sport.

“By combining strong free-to-air exposure in Thailand with comprehensive digital distribution across the region, we are building a long-term partnership designed to elevate volleyball’s visibility, fan engagement, and commercial growth.”

This agreement strengthens Jas’ premium sports portfolio, which includes rights to English soccer’s top-tier Premier League and FA Cup in Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia.

The deal in Vietnam runs through the 2030-31 season and was struck in December.

In terms of recent broadcast deals, Volleyball World renewed and expanded its rights agreement with prominent Turkish media operator Saran Media Group last month until 2032.

The Volleyball World commercial vehicle was launched in early 2021 as a joint venture between the FIVB and private equity heavyweights CVC, which acquired a 33% stake in the entity worth around $100 million.

At the time of its launch, the FIVB said it would seek “sustainable commercial partnerships that create long-term value across the sport’s global ecosystem.”

Since then, it has worked to expand its global presence through major rights agreements, including with Australian and Slovenian public-service broadcasters SBS and RTV, respectively, as well as the US’ Paramount-owned sports network CBS Sports and Fox-owned Big 10 Network.

In July 2025, Volleyball World struck a new multi-year strategic partnership with Eurovision Services, the leading broadcast services provider, to enhance its viewing product.
