Spanish men's soccer's top-tier LaLiga secured a normalized revenue increase of over 8% year-on-year during the 2024-25 season.

The 20-team league brought in normalized revenue of €5.46 billion ($6.27 billion) during that campaign, a new record.

LaLiga's commercial revenue surpassed €1.5 billion, with 2024-25 the third consecutive season income from that sector went past the €1 billion marker.

The league attributed this to "international expansion and new monetization strategies," and also said that there were positive growth prospects on this front for the 2025-26 season (currently coming towards its final months).

Specifically concerning the ongoing campaign, LaLiga stated that "forecasts point to further revenue growth and improvement in operating margins," and that the aim is once again to achieve "economic break-even."

In December, Spanish publication Palco23 reported that LaLiga made a net profit of €6.2 million in 2024-25, contrasting sharply with the loss of €5 million that the division suffered the prior year (2023-24).

Other notable figures for the league from 2024-25 include total attendance across the 20 clubs exceeding 17 million for the first time ever.

The average occupancy rate last season for a LaLiga stadium during a game was 84.5%.

November saw LaLiga complete its domestic line-up of broadcasters for the next cycle (2027-32).

Telecoms giant Telefonica, which operates the Movistar Plus+ pay-TV offering, and OTT streaming service DAZN, will once again each split five matches each per gameweek from the top-flight LaLiga competition.

Overall, the new pair of rights deals represents a 9% overall financial uplift on the current status quo.
