Mediacorp will air all 104 matches from the tournament, which will feature an unprecedented 48 participating teams for the first time.

Every match will be available to Mediacorp subscribers on its digital platform mewatch and carriage partner platforms.

Whilst the 2022 World Cup offered just nine free-to-air matches, Singaporeans will now be able to watch 28 matches for free on Channel 5 and meWATCH, including the opening match, selected group stage games, both semi-finals, and the final.

For the 2022 World Cup, rights in Singapore were primarily held by StarHub, which sublicensed packages of rights to rival telco Singtel and Mediacorp.

The state broadcaster also offers the FIFA+ streaming platform as a free channel on mewatch.

In October, StarHub agreed a carriage deal with Mediacorp. Through the strategic tie-up, Mediacorp carries content packages from StarHub TV+ on its mewatch.

From a sporting perspective, mewatch now offers live properties such as English soccer's top-tier Premier League to its customers.
