On the elevation, York commented: “Al has been an exceptional leader for this organization for more than a decade.
"His vision, partnership, and steady leadership have positioned the 49ers for success today and well into the future. The evolution of his role reflects how essential he has been to this organization and our confidence about what's ahead."
Guido joined the 49ers as chief operating officer in 2014, before being promoted to president in 2016.
For the past 10 years, he has overseen operations around the franchise, as well as its 68,500-capacity Levi’s Stadium home, which will host the upcoming 2026 Super Bowl on February 8.

By GlobalDataSince Guido joined the 49ers in 2014, Levi’s has hosted the Super Bowl once before (2016), the College Football National Championship Game (2019), WWE’s WrestleMania showpiece event (2015), the NHL Stadium Series (2015), and a range of high-profile concerts. The venue will also stage 2026 FIFA World Cup games.
In 2018, meanwhile, he became the chair and chief executive of sports commercial agency Elevate.
Prior to that, he had multiple years in the sports industry, including as senior vice president for sales and marketing at the Legends commercial agency (2009 to 2014), sales manager at the Dallas Cowboys (2007 to 2009), and senior director of sales at the (now defunct) Phoenix Coyotes ice hockey franchise (2004 to 2007).
Guido stated: “I am grateful for the trust Jed and the York family have shown in me, and proud of the staff I get to work alongside every day. The focus remains on winning — on the field and across the organization — and that standard will continue to guide our work."
