French women's soccer's top-tier league will continue to be called the Arkema Première Ligue (D1) through 2027-28, with the chemicals firm extending its title sponsorship of the competition.

A renewed deal between Arkema, the French Football Federation (FFF), and the Professional Women's Football League (LFFP), was unveiled yesterday (May 13), extending Arkema's position as the women's competition's main commercial partner for the next three seasons.

Arkema first came in as the D1 title sponsor ahead of the 2019-20 season (the first brand to take such a role in partnership with the league). The previous partnership extension was carried out in mid-2022, and GlobalData Sport has valued the title sponsorship deal for the 2024-25 season – set to conclude later this week – as worth $1.3 million.

The firm is also a sponsor of the French women's national team, through a tie-up with the FFF unveiled in July 2023.

The 2024-25 Arkema D1 season, containing 12 teams, comes to an end on Friday (May 16), with the final – playoff games have already taken place – between Lyon and Paris Saint-Germain.

The equivalent men's league in France – Ligue 1 – is title sponsored by fast food giant McDonald's, in a three-season deal running through 2026-27.
