UK sports and TV production firm Whisper has hired Lizzie Narey and promoted Jamie McIntosh to senior production roles in the US and UK, respectively.
Narey has been appointed as US-focused director of production, with McIntosh taking on the same role across Whisper’s sport, digital, and esports divisions.
Narey joins from production company Imagine Documentaries and has been hired to support Whisper’s growth plans for the US.
The firm has said Narey’s network and industry experience “will help develop Whisper’s in-market presence and burgeoning reputation across sports production, documentaries, branded content and entertainment, whether working directly for broadcasters, streamers, brands, and rights holders, or in partnership with US-based production companies and agencies.”
McIntosh has spent nine years with Whisper across two spells, most recently serving as director of production. During his time with the company, he has worked on multiple Rugby World Cups and international host broadcast events.
He has now been promoted to lead on sport, digital, and esports “while expanding the company’s presence in Wales and growth for Whisper’s Cardiff-based remote production facility.”

By GlobalDataSunil Patel, Whisper co-founder and CEO, said: “Whisper’s global multi-genre ambitions and strategy need to be matched by the quality of people we can attract and retain. It’s great news that someone of the standing and caliber as Lizzie is joining us as we look to expand our work in the US and keep growing the business in new markets.
“Lizzie has a brilliant reputation and brings an excellent network. Equally, Jamie’s promotion is part of what Whisper is all about: developing in-house talent and rewarding hard work. I am sure he will continue to deliver as his new role develops alongside Whisper’s continued growth in all areas.”
In March, Whisper appointed Richard Lancaster as its first chief technology officer, while earlier this year, the firm announced changes within its senior managing team, moving Bethan Evans and Mark Cole into new leadership positions.
Evans was named as the firm's managing director for sport, with Cole (formerly MD) moving up to a newly created role of group managing director.
In terms of Whisper’s major deals, last September it was appointed as the broadcast production partner for the next five editions of tennis’ French Open grand slam tournament.
In April 2024, a multi-year tie-up with the British and Irish Lions composite rugby union touring organization was announced.
Meanwhile, it was recently reported by Sky News that Whisper, established 15 years ago, is engaged in discussions around selling off either a minority or majority stake.
