NBL nets Mitchell & Ness extension to 2019
Australia’s National Basketball League has extended its sponsorship agreement with Mitchell & Ness, the US-based sportswear lifestyle brand, for a further two years.
Under the renewal announced today Mitchell & Ness will remain the NBL’s official on-court and off-court apparel partner until the end of the 2018-19 season.
Mitchell & Ness has been a partner of the league since April last year, having signed an initial one-year sponsorship deal.
Jeremy Loeliger, the NBL chief executive, said: “We look forward to partnering with them [Mitchell & Ness] for the next few years and think it is fitting to announce the partnership extension with the launch of the Heritage Jerseys which showcase iconic designs from the past.”
In July, Adidas, the German sportswear giant, completed the sale of Mitchell & Ness to private equity fund Juggernaut Capital Partners, in order to focus on its core brands.
Mitchell & Ness is best known for its nostalgia headwear and apparel, and has long-standing licensing deals with top North American leagues, including the NBA, NHL, MLB and NFL.
