Banking giant HSBC has become the latest UK-based brand to sign on as a sponsor of the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup (RWC), which will take place across England.

As the official retail bank of the event, which will begin on August 22 and run through September 27, HSBC will gain prominent branding presence across the showpiece tournament and activate around its games.

HSBC financial services advice will be available to participating players, as well as fan-focused engagement activities, pivotal with over 300,000 tickets already sold for the event (a record amount), with more tickets still to be released.

Speaking on the partnership, World Rugby chief executive Alan Gilpin said: “[HSBC’s] long-term commitment to the growth of the sport, and particularly women’s rugby, continues to be transformational.

“This partnership is a testament to HSBC’s support in providing opportunities for aspiring players and inspiring new generations of fans around the world and is another strong endorsement of a tournament that will be the biggest and best yet.”

HSBC is a long-time partner of rugby union, most prominently via the rugby sevens global touring SVNS series, of which it is the title sponsor in a deal that was renewed in 2023 through 2027.

The upcoming RWC 2025 will be the first to utilize eight different venues for the hosting of games, starting at the Stadium of Light in Sunderland on August 22 and ending with the final on September 27 at London’s iconic Twickenham Stadium.

Asahi Breweries, the Japanese beverage company, IT company Capgemini, credit card giant Mastercard, and insurance firm Gallagher are also principal partners of the 2025 Women’s RWC.
