Tissot, the Swiss watch manufacturer, will continue to serve as the official timekeeper of motorcycling’s FIM MotoGP World Championships through a multi-year contract extension with the championships’ promoter Dorna Sports.

The prolonged collaboration will see Tissot continue to receive brand visibility via trackside advertising at multiple events throughout the season.

This brings the pair’s relationship to over 20 years, with Tissot having held this sponsorship position since 2001.

Over the past two seasons, Tissot has deepened its ties with the championship, becoming the title sponsor to multiple events, including this year’s Grand Prix of Doha in Qatar and the Aragon Grand Prix in Spain.

As part of the new agreement, Tissot will retain a title sponsorship role at a Grand Prix each season.

Sylvain Dolla, chief executive of Tissot, said: "The technological world of motorcycling reflects the nature of Tissot perfectly. It shares our passion for products, continuous development and a drive to keep pushing boundaries.
