Rugby Australia, the governing body for rugby union in the country, has secured a new five-year deal with Mondelez International, the USA-based snack company, to become the main sponsor of its national teams.
Under the agreement, Mondelez Cadbury will serve as the principal partner of the Wallabies, the men’s team, and a major partner of the Wallaroos, the women’s team.
Cadbury will be replacing Qantas as principal partner after the tie-up with the Australian airline ended after 30 years, in 2020.
The Cadbury’s logo will be featured on the Wallabies jersey for the first time in a test match against France in Sydney on 7 July. The brand’s logo will also appear on the team’s training shorts.
The logo will be displayed on the Wallaroos shorts for the first time in a test match against Samoa in Brisbane on 17 July.
The deal with Cadbury will come as a boost to RA after a sponsorship deal with GFG Alliance, a steel and mining conglomerate, fell through last month.
