North America’s Major League Baseball has entered into a long-term sponsorship deal with cryptocurrency exchange platform FIX.

The deal will see FTX patches feature on the uniforms of MLB umpires throughout the regular season, postseason and spring training, starting with the MLB All-Star Game on 13 July.

FTX is the MLB's first cryptocurrency sponsor and will have rights to incorporate the MLB logo in its marketing campaigns.

FTX will receive brand exposure across MLB games, MLB.com, the MLB Network and across the MLB multiple social media platforms.

Furthermore, in a deal with MLB Players Inc, a subsidiary of MLB Players Association, FTX will feature player highlights in its content.

Welcoming the deal with MLB, Sam Bankman-Fried, chief executive and founder of FTX, said: "It's an honour for FTX to be the first cryptocurrency exchange to be associated with the history and tradition of America’s national pastime. FTX.COM and FTX.US are excited to enter this first-of-its-kind partnership with Major League Baseball.
