Li-Ning, the renowned Chinese sportswear brand, has become the exclusive apparel partner of World Table Tennis, as part of a partnership extension with the body.

Through the agreement, which runs until 2022, the brand will provide apparel for referees, umpires, ball kids and International Table Tennis Federation and WTT staff and officials at events including the upcoming World Table Tennis Championship Finals.

This broadens the brand's association with table tennis, with it having previously been the official ITTF umpire and referee apparel sponsor, as well as currently serving as a partner of the Chinese Table Tennis Association.

Li-Ning was also the apparel supplier for table tennis officials at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

As part of the new agreement, Li-Ning will also redesign apparel for officials at the rebranded WTT Series and receive brand exposure at events.

Zhang Xiangdu, general manager of the Li-Ning Brand Project Management Centre, said: “In the last years, the ITTF set up WTT to take table tennis to new heights, and we are thrilled to continue working with WTT to further promote table tennis at a global level, at the same time delivering a reimagined table tennis experience to fans.”

Matt Pound, managing director at WTT, added: “This extended partnership marks the transition to a new era, where we share the vision of reimagining and redefining table tennis globally. We believe this is just a start, and we look forward to many more years of deeper collaboration as we further drive the sport to greater heights.”
