Inter Miami, of US soccer’s top-tier Major League Soccer (MLS), have secured a stadium naming rights agreement with Brazilian digital financial services company Nu ahead of the 2026 season.

The multi-year deal will see the franchise’s new 26,700-seat venue named Nu Stadium when it hosts its first match on April 4.

Along with naming rights, the agreement also includes Nu claiming the club’s new lower back-of-shirt sponsorship space, which will be introduced across MLS in August 2026, as well as branding rights to a premium hospitality lounge inside the stadium and a plaza space in the adjacent Miami Freedom Park mixed-use site.

Jorge Mas, Inter Miami CF managing owner, said: “Nu is exactly the partner we look for – driven by the same disruptor mindset and global ambition that define Inter Miami.

“Together, we are proud to welcome our fans to Nu Stadium at Miami Freedom Park very soon, a special place they can call home where they can feel connected, inspired, and part of something truly extraordinary.”

While financial details of the agreement have not been disclosed, it is likely to be one of the largest naming rights deals for a soccer-specific stadium in MLS history, given Inter Miami’s high profile within the league, the presence of soccer legend Lionel Messi, and the back-of-shirt sponsorship element.

MLS rivals LAFC’s 10-year naming rights deal with BMO in 2023, which set a then-record of $100 millio. However, that figure was surpassed a year later when New York City FC secured a 20-year deal with Etihad Airways for its proposed venue (set to open in 2027).

Inter Miami, who won their first MLS Cup title last December, are currently the MLS’ most valuable team, with an enterprise value of $1.45 billion, according to a report by Sportico last month.

The figure represents a 22% increase for the franchise, which took the crown from rivals LAFC ($1.4 billion), which held the highest valuation for the previous four years.

Inter Miami have been playing at a temporary venue, Inter Miami Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, since their debut season in 2020, and will play 10 of their first 11 matches of the 2026 season at away venues.

The one game that will be played at Inter Miami Stadium before Nu Stadium opens will be when the club host Nashville SC in the second leg of their round-of-16 Concacaf Cup tournament on March 18.

Along with home matches, Nu Stadium will also play host to concerts, corporate and private events, as well as other sports competitions.

The deal marks Nu’s second major sports sponsorship deal, having secured a multi-year partnership with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team earlier this year.

The company was founded in 2013 and currently operates across Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico. It went public on the New York Stock Exchange in 2021 and received conditional approval to expand into the US in January.

Cristina Junqueira, co-founder and chief executive of Nu’s emerging US business, has said: “This long-term partnership represents a strategic alignment with an international sports franchise that shares our ambition and global mindset.

“Nu Stadium will anchor our brand in the United States, allowing us to engage with a diverse, international community as we build the most influential consumer technology platform in the world.”
