SailGP, the international sailing series, has named GoPro, the wearable camera brand as its official on-board action camera provider.
The partnership will see GoPro outfit SailGP teams with its Hero9 and Max cameras throughout season two, which began in Bermuda last month.
GoPro will additionally provide various mounting accessories to support the cameras on the boats.
The series will visit Italy, Great Britain, Denmark, France, Spain, New Zealand before concluding in San Francisco in the USA for the Grand Final next year on 27 March.
In addition, SailGP and GoPro will jointly produce a competition, via SailGP.com/GoPro, called 'What’s your next adventure?', with entries opening today.
The two winners will be announced at the Grand Final and will receive a SailGP x GoPro prize bundle as well as an exclusive SailGP season three experience.
Daisy Vollans, head of digital and fan engagement at SailGP, said: “GoPro’s passion for adventure-seeking and conveying those moments through digital storytelling is the perfect complement to SailGP’s adrenaline-fueled championship, that’s powered by nature and delivered against a backdrop of natural, iconic venues around the world.
“This partnership not only delivers the ultimate in entertainment value for fans far and wide – bringing them closer to the action – it also represents inspiration, creativity, and a genuine penchant for living life in the moment, so we are very excited to work with such a like-minded company as GoPro.”
