Singapore based Yonex-Sunrise, commercial rights holders of badminton’s richest tournament; the Yonex-Sunrise Super Series Finals have exclusively appointed IEC in Sports to handle worldwide broadcast distribution for the tournament in 2009.
Malaysia’s dynamic coastal city of Johor Baru will play host to the five day extravaganza from Dec 2-6 2009.
The event offers total prize money of US$500,000 making it the richest tournament in the sport.
“I am delighted to announce this spectacular season-ending finale, which primarily benefits the players. We have confirmation that numerous countries will send their eligible players including reigning Olympic medallists”, said Dilip Kumar Seth, Managing Director of Yonex-Sunrise.
IEC in Sports will be offering over 5 days of first class television production internationally from the host broadcaster, RTM. Live streaming of the event will also be available in selected territories on www.WoB.tv all to ensure the fullest coverage of this event.

Eligible to compete are the top eight ranked players in each discipline, based on their overall 12-leg Super Series performance, who qualify for the Finals.
“We are pleased to have brought together Badminton Malaysia and the city of Johor Baru, who have been strong and reliable hosts for badminton events over the years. It is only right they should make history by holding the 2nd Yonex-Sunrise Super Series Finals”, added Mr. Seth.
