The FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) looks to gear up for a bigger share in Asia over the next three years following a joint agreement between International Sportsworld Communicators Ltd. (ISC) and Total Sports Asia (TSA).  The 3-year agreement sees ISC appointing TSA as their exclusive partner in the marketing and distribution of broadcast rights and as their non exclusive sponsorship agent within key Asian territories.

The deal sees TSA take responsibility for distribution of WRC content across the Asian region in key markets such as Greater China, South East Asia and the Indian Sub Continent.  It also provides an opportunity for TSA to utilise its existing network of key broadcast and media relationships to enhance the distribution and support of the content with local support from its five regional Asian offices.

Ian Ayre, TSA Chief Operating Officer said: “ The ability to represent both the media rights and sponsorship rights in Asia is a key factor in building the WRC brand going forward.  Motorsport is growing rapidly in Asia with races and viewership increasing annually.  Taking what is already a globally recognised motorsport brand to greater heights in Asia is an excellent opportunity and one we are extremely pleased to have the chance to be involved in ”

Simon Long, Managing Director ISC said: “With it’s dynamic entertainment proposition, data rich content and leading edge technology applications, WRC is better placed than ever to take off in Asia and engage with an ever wider audience of fans. We are confident that TSA, with their multi-platform expertise and local market know-how, are an excellent partner to help fully leverage the unique appeal of WRC across the region. We would also like to acknowledge the invaluable contribution made by ISM in building the foundations for WRC in Asia during the past 3 years”.
