The Foundation Board of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) voted to move its headquarters to Montreal, Canada, by a vote of 17 for Montreal and 15 for Lausanne yesterday in Tallinn, Estonia.

Bonn, Germany (1st round), Stockholm, Sweden (2nd round), and Vienna, Austria (3rd round), had fallen out of the race in previous rounds of voting.

‘Canada has made great strides in the fight against doping, and its most international city, Montreal, will make a great home for WADA,’ said Richard W. Pound, Chairman of WADA’s Board. ‘To this point, Lausanne has been a great place for WADA to start up its operations, so we must thank its residents and officials, but the Board felt Montreal distinguished itself as the best option for the future.’
