Following a new deal between Video Networks’ subsidiary VNL Sports Ltd and the BBC, subscribers will be able to see highlights of key matches in the first week of Wimbledon, from 27th June. During the second week the Homechoice service will include comprehensive coverage of the quarter and semi-finals and, of course, the finals of the men’s and ladies’ singles championships. All these matches will be viewable from 6:00am the following morning.

Simon Hochhauser, Chief Executive of Video Networks said: ‘This is what interactive television is all about, giving the viewer and not the programmer, control over when you watch television. Signing the rights for Wimbledon 2000 is a very important deal for us and we expect it to be hugely popular amongst our subscribers.’

The Homechoice service gives subscribers instant access to a wide range of films and popular television programmes, including comedy, drama, sport, news and music videos, updated every week. Viewers can watch programmes exactly when they want, with full control to pause, rewind and fast forward, as often as they want. Homechoice also offers fast Internet for a flat monthly fee with no additional call charges, making Homechoice the ultimate in-home entertainment package.
