VeloNews to Sponsor US Cycling’s Pro Cycling Tour

NORRISTOWN, PA (March 15, 2004) – The Pro Cycling Tour (PCT) announced today an agreement with VeloNews as a sponsor of the 2004 Pro Cycling Tour and its events in Philadelphia, New York City, Vail, and San Francisco. As a PCT media partner, VeloNews, the journal of competitive cycling, will receive prominent visibility and co-branded media opportunities at Pro Cycling Tour events.

‘The Pro Cycling Tour is a great series, and a key component of the U.S. bike racing calendar,’ says Dave Whittingham, Inside Communications’ Marketing Manager. ‘We’re enthusiastic about our partnership with the PCT in 2004, and especially excited to see the continued growth of the Tour. The Pro Cycling Tour kicks off the week of June 1-6 with the Wachovia Cycling Series which includes the 20th anniversary of the Wachovia USPRO Cycling Championship in Philadelphia, followed by the BMC Software New York City Cycling Championship, August 1; The PCT Rocky Mountain Classic at Vail, Colorado, September 3-5, and culminates with The T-MOBILE INTERNATIONAL, presented by BMC Software in San Francisco, September 12. Five-time Tour de France champion, Lance Armstrong, will compete in both the Vail and San Francisco events alongside his teammates on the U.S. Postal Service Team.
