Union of European Basketball Leagues (ULEB) president Eduardo Portela and Euroleague CEO Jordi Bertomeu met today in Geneva, Switzerland with the top representatives from FIBA World, secretary general Patrick Baumann and secretary general emeritus Borislav Stankovic and from FIBA Europe, president Giorgios Vassilakopoulos and executive director Nar Zanolin.

The meeting served to begin laying the foundations for future work together and to find points of agreement that allow for dialogue to be initiated. At the same time, there exist differences that must be addressed in subsequent encounters between the three parties.

Looking toward the 2004-05 season, ULEB will maintain its current competition structure, which is to say that the Euroleague and the ULEB Cup will be managed completely by ULEB.
