UFA SPORTS has prematurely extended its existing contract with the Croatian Football Association up to the year 2008. The partnership continues to include the exclusive worldwide marketing of all TV rights for qualification and friendly games, as well as all advertising rights, including in the internet. In addition, both contracting parties have agreed to a more intensive level of cooperation for the future across the whole field of sponsoring.

Parallel to this, UFA SPORTS has also concluded comprehensive marketing contracts with two of the leading Croatian clubs, Dynamo Zagreb and Hajduk Split. During the course of the initially agreed five-year contract period, UFA SPORTS has sole agency rights from both clubs for the worldwide sales of European Cup games and all TV league rights. Further elements of the agreement are the marketing of all internet activities as well as advertising panels in the stadium.

The intensifying of the commitment in Croatian football is, after the recently agreed overall marketing project with the long-established Brazilian club Vasco da Gama, yet another important step in the internationalisation of the UFA SPORTS portfolio. Bernd Hoffmann, the chairman of the board at UFA SPORTS, remarks: ‘The current contractual agreements signed in Croatia are a significant part of our efforts to enter the most important football markets. Croatian football is enormously attractive and after the national team’s third place in the 1998 World Championships, Croatia numbers among the world’s leading football nations. We have already been working very successfully with the Croatian Football Association for a number of years and will be developing this partnership still further and continuing our work with the two top clubs.’
