UEFA’s official web site, uefa.com, has announced the appointment of Mr. Alexandre Fourtoy as Chief Executive Officer of the soon to be re-launched web site.

Mr Fourtoy, 31, will join uefa.com on 1 August and will head-up a rapidly expanding team of specialists who are aiming to make the web site one of the most visited sports sites, while also enhancing UEFA’s presence on the Internet.

Mr Fourtoy will bring with him a wealth of experience after spending the last two years as General Manager of Sportal France. His appointment comes as UEFA continues to expand both the services offered and information provided on uefa.com.

Having graduated from the EM Lyon Business School, Mr Fourtoy started his career working for Canal+ in Paris and South America working for the company’s marketing and development sectors. In 1995 he moved to Keynews in Brussels as Development Manager before moving to Paris in 1997 and working as a consultant to Idealogie. He joined Sportal Ltd. in August 1999.
