TWI the UK’s largest independent production company has signed a new two year production deal with the BBC for the world’s leading snooker tournaments.

The deal which comes into effect with this month’s LG Cup also includes the UK Championships, The Benson & Hedges Masters and the World Championship. The World Championship itself constitutes over 100 hours of television.

Graham Fry, TWI’s Head of Production, comments – ‘TWI is delighted with this contract. We have a long history of successful snooker coverage based on our development and innovative skills. This year’s tournaments will see further innovation and changes including new graphics, new sets and a new presentation team which will be augmented by greater audience interactivity.’

BBC Head of General Sport, Barbara Slater said: ‘We are pleased that the BBC’s long term commitment to snooker is continuing with TWI and we are excited to play a role innovating and re-energising snooker on television.’

Coverage of the LG Cup started this week on BBC TWO, presented by Hazel Irvine with Steve Davies and John Parrott adding comment and commentary, and witnessed a maximum break today [Wednesday] by snooker superstar Ronnie O’Sullivan.
