FIFA and Traffic, the Brazilian marketing company, signed today at FIFA headquarters a major television and marketing contract for the FIFA Club World Championship.

The agreement covers the three editions of the FIFA Club World Championship in 2001, 2003 and 2005. The contract was signed by FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter and General Secretary Michel Zen-Ruffinen and Traffic chairman JoseHawila.

‘FIFA is pleased to announce the signature of this contract, which proves that, after the successful first event in 2000 in Brazil, the FIFA Club World Championship is here to stay and to become a top fixture in international football’, said FIFA President Blatter.

‘Traffic is pleased to continue the relationship with FIFA and looks forward to contributing with its television and marketing expertise to the success of the FIFA Club World Championship’, stated Traffic chairman José Hawila. The 2001 event will be held from 29 July to 12 August in Spain.
